SDG Group Public Welfare Management Regulations(SDG-003)

1. Purpose
Upholding the principle of “taking from society and giving back to society,” SDG Group aims to expand the influence of “uplifting, doing good, and creating joy,” and to strengthen diverse partnerships for sustainable development. These regulations are established to integrate SDG Group’s public welfare operations, ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness, and enhance global public welfare impact.

2. Scope
These regulations apply to all SDG Group subsidiaries, including MEAN WELL, POWERNEX, SHARE WELL, and MEAN WELL Foundation, covering public welfare activities and related operational standards.

3. Responsibilities
3.1  Group Headquarters Public Welfare Team: Responsible for drafting these regulations, integrating public welfare initiatives and activities across domestic and international regions, effectively connecting the enterprise with society, and managing the execution and performance of activities.
3.2  Regional Management Department: Responsible for localized operations and management, assisting in the execution and promotion of Group-wide plans.
3.3  Community Site Leader: Responsible for local site operations and management, assisting in the implementation and promotion of site-specific initiatives.
3.4  SDG Group Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO): Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the review and implementation of these regulations, including KPI management.

4. Public Welfare Contributions
4.1  MEAN WELL Foundation: Operates for the purpose of social welfare and charitable activities, with donations subject to the annual budget:
  1. Social Welfare and Public Activities: Support community site activities, replace lighting equipment in welfare institutions, etc.
  2. Donations to Social Welfare Institutions: The Founder and Chairman may recommend 5–10 organizations for support, while other board members may recommend up to 5 organizations. Honorary directors do not have recommendation rights. All donations must be approved by the Foundation’s board, and the board members responsible for the adopted organizations are expected to visit them.
  3. Promotion of Public Welfare, Environmental, and Recreational Culture: Initiatives such as “I Love Tamsui River,” Ocean Forest Shezi Island,” and adoption of wetlands.
  4. Other Public Welfare Projects Aligned with the Foundation’s Mission: Foundation may provide emergency relief to full-time employees and their relatives up to the third degree (excluding in-laws). Applicants outside this category require a recommendation from the relevant functional manager and approval by the Foundation. Individual grants generally do not exceed NT$100,000 (see Attachment 1: SDG Group Emergency Relief Management Regulations).
  5. Activities shall be conducted under the guidance of competent authorities, such as the Social and Family Affairs Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
  6. Other matters related to social welfare and charitable activities.
4.2  Any public welfare donations made by the Group’s companies must comply with local government regulations and be carried out according to regional needs.

5. Community Sites
To expand social care and practical actions, SDG Group establishes community sites based on regional needs to support local communities and an aging society (see Attachment 2: SDG Group Community Site Management Regulations).

6. Operational Procedures
6.1  Annual Plan:The Public Welfare Team shall prepare plans and budgets at the end of each year for approval at the SDG Group Annual Meeting. Large-scale events require a proposal submitted to the local authority and reported to the Group Public Welfare Team.
6.2  Based on the activity plans of each SDG Group company, the responsible units shall complete the next year’s Public Welfare e-Book by October each year.
6.3  TO DO LIST:Implementing personnel shall prepare a 180-day To-Do List in accordance with operational plans, report progress in weekly/monthly meetings, and submit a completion report upon conclusion.

7. SDG Hours and Points
Employees, distributors, partners, ESG enterprises, and other participants in any SDG Group-organized public welfare or volunteer activities shall earn 200 points per hour.

8. Revision
These regulations shall take effect upon approval by the SDG Executive Meeting. Any amendments must follow the same approval process.
